Dallas mom gets 99 years in prison for gluing tot's hand and face,
when a person has no knowledge about The Bible - the success book for all areas of life.
When we apply the 10 Success Laws (= The 10 Commandments) we will avoid all trouble and will have a a long, healthy, financially rich life without any violence no matter what background.
In all us humans, when we get angry and do not control our negative feelings, the primitive, atavistic part of our brains kick in first to show all types of negative emotions - it is the atavistic flee or fight instinct. This first state stays for about 30 minutes. During those 30 minutes the rational, reasonable, good values knowing part of brains is passive and that better part starts kicking on after 30 min. Thus, the solution is to know this fact and avoid letting it taking over. Based on knowledge of this structure of human behavior will save in every challenging situation and all ends well. Landing in any criminal prosecution would be avoided because no physically hurting action was taken. It is also important to understand that mental abuse, verbal abuse, screaming, and showing disrespect can be criminally prosecuted in some U.S. states and in many countries worldwide. Apply the principle of 30 minutes until the reason kicks on and all violence, hurting words and all other wrong behavior will be avoided.
Walk away peacefully from the scene for 30 minutes and you will come back to handle the situation in a peaceful manner. Applying this principle everywhere, in your home, in work, in a public place, saves you and everyone from serious trouble. Marriages will be saved and life can and will be enjoyable and happy - all leading to a healthier, longer life.
Talk about this principle with your spouse and agree together to apply it as negative situations come up. Teach this principle to your children early on in their lives and agree together as a family to apply it at home and everywhere outside your home.
Dallas mom gets 99 years in prison for gluing tot's hands and face
By NOMAAN MERCHANT | Associated Press
DALLAS (AP) — A Dallas woman who beat her 2-year-old daughter and glued the toddler's hands to a wall was sentenced Friday to 99 years in prison by a judge who described his decision as a necessary punishment for a brutal, shocking attack.
Elizabeth Escalona did not immediately react as State District Judge Larry Mitchell pronounced the sentence at the end of a five-day hearing. Prosecutor Eren Price, who originally offeredEscalona a plea deal for 45 years, had argued that she now thought the 23-year-old mother deserved life.
Mitchell said his decision came down to one thing.
"On Sept. 7, 2011, you savagely beat your child to the edge of death," Mitchell said. "For this you must be punished."
The beating left Jocelyn Cedillo in a coma for a couple of days.
Escalona's other children told authorities their mother attackedJocelyn due to potty training problems. Police say she kicked her daughter in the stomach, beat her with a milk jug, then stuck her hands to an apartment wall with an adhesive commonly known as Super Glue.
Jocelyn suffered bleeding in her brain, a fractured rib, multiple bruises and bite marks, a doctor testified. Some skin had been torn off her hands, where doctors also found glue residue and white paint chips from the apartment wall.
Escalona pleaded guilty in July to one count of felony injury to a child.
Price said Escalona would be eligible to apply for parole in 30 years.
The prosecutor repeatedly sought to portray Escalona as a liar, a monster and an unfit mother. She forced Escalona Thursday to look at enlarged photos of the bruises her attack left on Jocelyn.
Price argued Friday that if a stranger had beaten Jocelyn the same way, no one would hesitate to give that person life in prison. Escalona had mishandled a "beautiful gift" of a daughter and failed to recognize what she had done, Price argued.
"The 45-year recommendation was for somebody who was going to take ownership of what she did, appreciate what she caused," Price said.
Sending her to prison for decades would protect her children's future, Price argued.
"You can give Jocelyn and her brothers and sister peace," she said. "You can give them peace, so that when they're sitting around the dinner table at Thanksgiving with their big family, they're not worried that their mother is going to come walking through the door."
Defense attorney Angie N'Duka asked for probation or a prison sentence shorter than 10 years. N'Duka argued that her client was a "train wreck" waiting to happen before the attack, the product of a broken home, abuse and a childhood that included illegal drugs and hanging out with gang members.
N'Duka repeated that she did not want to minimize the injuries from the attack.
"They are despicable, but then the question is, 'What is justice for Jocelyn?'" she said, adding later: "Giving Elizabeth the opportunity to be a better mother, giving her the opportunity to get counseling services, will be justice for Jocelyn."
Escalona's five children, including Jocelyn and a baby born after the attack, are in the care of their grandmother, Ofeila Escalona.
Mitchell listened to both lawyers and took a short break before delivering his sentence.
The judge said he believed many of the allegations that Escalona was abused as a child. "And again, outside of the context of this trial, I think even the state would find you to be a sympathetic figure, because they prosecute people for what was done to you," Mitchell said. "But I can't consider that evidence outside of the context of this trial."
He then announced the sentence. A family member of Escalona began sobbing and screaming, "No!"
N'Duka told reporters that Escalona had asked afterward, "What about my children?"
N'Duka said the sentence was "way too harsh" and suggested the widespread attention her client's case had received contributed to the sentence.
"It's a lot of pressure, a lot of pressure on the parties," N'Duka said.
Price said afterward prosecutors decided to ask for a longer sentence after receiving more evidence they wouldn't have had if Escalona had taken a deal for 45 years.
"We feel like the judge listened very carefully to a very difficult week of testimony, and we feel like he did exactly what the evidence called for," Price said.
Ofelia Escalona had asked for leniency for her daughter. After the sentencing, she left the courtroom with a solemn expression, ignoring reporters' shouted questions.

Is Your Home Marked By the Fruits of the Spirit?
The Spirit-filled home "How do you remember your childhood home? Was it a loving and welcoming place? Maybe there were evidences of kindness and generosity—fresh homemade cookies, a dollhouse or model planes you and your dad built together, a warm welcome always waiting for you, an old couch to be shared with brothers and sisters.
Perhaps you don't have such wonderful childhood memories. Not everyone does. Homes can be places of cruelty as well—places full of criticism and humiliation, places characterized by conflict, jealousy, and pain. Loving homes don't just magically appear. They are the result of a husband and wife's commitment to letting God's Spirit control their lives. When you follow the Spirit's leading, God produces kindness, goodness, patience, and love in your lives. Then the home a marriage creates can become a light to the neighborhood, a place where friends and neighbors can experience genuine love and acceptance. If you are married, what type of home do you want your marriage to create? Ask God today to plant the seeds of loving kindness in your life, your marriage, and your home."
GALATIANS 5:22-26 NLT - "When the Holy Spirit controls our lives, he will produce this kind of fruit is us: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control.…Those who belong to Christ Jesus have nailed the passions and desires of their sinful nature to his cross and crucified them there. It we are living now by the Holy Spirit, let us follow the Holy Spirit's leading in every part of our lives. Let us not become conceited, or irritate one another, or by jealous of one another."
19 The acts of the flesh = the sinful state of human beings are obvious: sexual immorality, impurity and debauchery (= 1. excessive indulgence in sensual pleasures; intemperance. 2. Archaic . seduction from duty, allegiance, or virtue); 20 idolatry (= the religious worship of id ols = or symbol of an object of worship; broadly: a false god) and witchcraft; hatred, discord (= active quarreling or conflict resulting from discord among persons or factions : strife), jealousy, fits of rage, selfish ambition, dissensions (= quarreling, conflict), factions (= a group within a larger group that has different ideas and opinions than the rest of the group) 21 and envy; drunkenness, orgies, and the like. I warn you, as I did before, that those who live like this will not inherit the kingdom of God.
(GCG Pastor's Comment: means: not HAPPINESS on earth either - to inherit the kingdom of God applies to our earthly life and to our eternal life. When we follow and apply the biblical success laws (= the advice in the Bible) we will have "heaven on earth" including in our family and in everything we do meaning: we will succeed well in everything)
22 When the Holy Spirit controls our lives, the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, forbearance (= patience), kindness, goodness, faithfulness, 23 gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law. 24 Those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires. 25 Since we live by the Spirit, let us keep in step with the Spirit. 26 Let us not become conceited, provoking and envying each other.

Peace in Your Precious Marriage - Peace in All Other Relationships
"Since God chose you to be the holy people whom he loves, you must clothe yourselves with tenderhearted mercy, kindness, humility, gentleness, and patience. You must take allowance for each other's faults and forgive the person who offends you. Remember, the Lord forgave you, so you must forgive others. And the most important piece of clothing you must wear is love. Love is what binds us all together in perfect harmony. And let the peace that comes from Christ rule in your hearts. For as members of one body you are all called to live in peace." Colossians 3:12-15 NLT
Attaining peace
This advice applies to any relationship, including your marriage.
Maintaining peace in any relationship is the key to your health, happiness, wealth, success and good financial results in life. It is not always easy to have peace in every relationship. BUT: we all can learn and succeed in keeping peace. Patience, forgiveness, and "love your neighbor" attitude are among those keys. Realize also, that each one of us is a unique individual who interprets and views things differently. Whether in relationships in the church, among family and friends, or in our marriages, conflict can happen - but you can make it clear with kindness, politness, by not blaming the other party. Humor always helps and is one good way to go forward positively. When conflict comes, we need to follow Christ's example by showing love and forgiveness in difficult situations. God loved us when we were still sinners in rebellion against him (Romans 5:9). We need to show that same type of love to others by being kind, merciful, and patient.
QUOTE "Be kind - everyone you meet is going through a hard struggle". Plato (Ancient Philosopher)
QUOTE "The three most important things in life are: first: be kind, secondly: be kind, and thirdly: be kind"

Has Your Family Been a Blessing?
"The godly walk with integrity; blessed are their children after them."
Proverbs 20:7 NLT
Today, Lord, help me walk with integrity so as to be a good example to others.
A heritage of blessings
What better motivations exist for us to be people of integrity than that our children will be blessed for it!
Parents who are godly, who live with integrity and truthfulness, are wonderful examples to their children. Granted, this does not always guarantee that children will turn out perfectly, but children will nevertheless receive a great blessing from having such parents.
So what does it mean to "walk with integrity"? It means that "walk the talk." In other words, plenty of people know the right thing to do, but when the right time comes, they don't do it. They know they should tell the truth, for example, but if telling the truth will hurt, they opt for a lie instead. Children learn best from models they see and hear, but if they learn to bend the truth whenever needed, they set themselves up for problems in life. But if they learn to follow God and walk their faith, then they will have been greatly blessed.
WISE WAYS: Are you willing to walk with integrity in front of your children or those over whom you have influence? What kinds of blessings will they have from following your example?
Today, Lord, help me walk with integrity so as to be a good example to others.

Happy families… own a surface similarity of good cheer. For one thing, they like each other, which is quite a different thing from loving. For another, they have, almost always, one entirely personal treasure—a sort of purseful of domestic humor which they have accumulated against rainy days. This humor is not necessarily witty. The jokes may be incomprehensible to outsiders, and the laughter springs from the most trivial of sources. But the jokes and the laughter belong entirely to the family. - PHYLLIS McGINLEY

HOW TO "POWER PRAY"
WITH THE RESULTS COMING
A 3-step guide
By Dr. Christian, Ph.D., N.D., D.D., Pastor of GCG
Prepare to Power Pray
(1) Take your Bible - Use a modern language Bible
The content and the biblical message is the same - only the language is based on today's English: (a) NLT = New Living Translation (published in the 2000's), or (b) The Book (= the title of this Bible - published in the 1980's- (a) and (b) both by Tyndale Publishing House), or (c) another recent one: New International Version (NIV) or (d) any other modern language Bible as your favorite.
Use a dedicated Bible for your studying and learning - a Bible copy that is only in your use. Then you can write notes on the pages and want to keep your notes private.
If English is your first language and you have a "dear" family Bible - King James (KJV) Version, you may use it; however, use also a second version aside, any of the modern English language Bibles because The KJ version Bible is based on the 1600's / 1700's English. English is spoken differently today than 300 - 400 years ago. If English is not your 1st language, you would not necessarily understand a KSV. When you use KJV and a modern language version compare their texts because the modern language Bible text often can make the meaning of The Bible even for a native English speaker easier to understand and to apply. Not applying is plain lip service or ear service and is not helpful for you. Read your Bible aloud as often you can - for any human it is then easier to comprehend. Reason: when additional senses are in use at the same time, it helps in your concentration and the brain will process and allow you to comprehend the meaning of the text effortlessly and with deeper clarity. This is called the "5-Sense Method"™ and was developed by Dr. Christian, Pastor of GCG, in the early 1990's for the then new super-learning techniques and is now in a worldwide use. In a public place read study your Bible by silently forming the text.
If English is not your first language, use anyway a modern English language Bible (not your native language Bible except, perhaps only for comparing the translations) - you then learn modern English for everyday use and thus you benefit more and for many other purposes. Study always the new words from your dictionary or using an internet English language dictionary (= put the new word on "search" plus ask for its "definition". Create a file in your computer and easily transfer the meaning for further studying..
(2) Study (by reading aloud) in The Bible the following passages
(important: in this following order)
(1) John 14: 1 and John 14: 11-14
(2) Mark 11: 22 - 25 + 26 (Verse 26 is not in every Bible but is important = it is the same as in Matthew 6:15
Study it from Matthew 6:15 if your Bible is lacking it)
(3) John 15: 7
(4) John 15: 16 (the last full sentence, only) and the verse 17
(5) James 1: 2 - 6
(6) Romans 8: 31 - 32
(7) Jeremiah
(3) PRAY "IN THE NAME OF LORD JESUS CHRIST"
(1) Say first: "God, in the name of Lord Jesus Christ I am praying this prayer"
(2) Then: "say what you are praying for - describe in all details
(3) AND: believe it to happen without any doubt",
(4) At the end you say "Thank you, God - for your miracles, in the Name of Lord Jesus
Christ I am asking you to hear my prayer. In the name of Lord Jesus Christ, Amen."
*) "Amen" actually means "So be it"
The Greek Old Testament usually translates it as "so be it"; in the English Bible it is often translated as "verily" or "truly." As regards the etymology, Amen is a derivative from the Hebrew verb "aman" = "to strengthen" or "Confirm".
_____
Some power points:
YOUR PRAYER WILL ALWAYS BE ANSWERED
when it is to your own real best
and is not hurting anyone else
Always Thank God when your prayer has been answered
It is also a good idea to pray on your knees
however
you can pray in any circumstanced and in any position
Always pray "in Jesus name"
Create a habit to talk to God as you would talk to a human being next to you
When in privacy pray aloud - in a public place quietly
______________
Jewish Saying: "God why do you not provide until you provide?"
______________
Please remember: God is NOT you "wish fountain" - your prayer content must not be hurting
anyone - God knows best what you need. When your prayer is for your own best, God will grant
it. On the other hand, none of us always knows what is best for us.

The Greek Old Testament usually translates it as "so be it"; in the English Bible it is often translated as "verily" or "truly." As regards the etymology, Amen is a derivative from the Hebrew verb "aman" = "to strengthen" or "Confirm".
